Support

Where
@Delivery Organisations
provide support
@Actions
to address people’s
@Needs
.

Referring a Need to one or more delivery organisations

Having established the
@Needs
of a person or
@Household
, the
@Responsible Organisation
then refers each
@Need
to a
@Delivery Organisation
.
A single
@Delivery Organisation
might handle all the
@Needs
of person or household, or just some. For instance, one organisation might give help with shopping, while another handles access to medicines.
@Delivery Organisations
can range from public sector bodies through to local informal community groups.
The
@Lead Organisation
or the
@Responsible Organisation
can also be a
@Delivery Organisation
.

Information Governance when passing data to and from a Delivery Organisation

A
@Delivery Organisation
will need to know about
the
@Person
or
@Household
that they are asked to support
the address
the
@Need
special instructions

The
@Responsible Organisation
should
establish a with each
@Delivery Organisation
set up an ‘End User Licence’ if licensed data is being shared.
SAVVI gives advice on how to share address data when that has been taken from a licensed source.
Although these are not different to any other data handling scenario, SAVVI has some advice about the steps to take, and points to guidance from authoritative sources such as the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). The contains some examples.

A Plan for each Need

A
@Delivery Organisation
can report back on how they plan to provide support. For example, they may plan to provide a weekly food-box, or to provide debt counselling.
Updating the
@Responsible Organisation
with a
@Plan
, gives some assurance that a
@Need
is being managed. At its simplest the
@Delivery Organisation
can just indicate that there is a
@Plan
, without any further detail.

@Responsible Organisation
.

Providing Support

Each support activity that a
@Delivery Organisation
provides, can be recorded as an
@Action
and reported back to the
@Responsible Organisation
.
This is useful information that can be reported in a dashboard in the phase, and can be analyzed for effectiveness during the phase.

@Responsible Organisation
.

Closing a Need

A
@Delivery Organisation
may judge that a
@Need
has been satisfied. For example, a person may say that they have now made arrangements for shopping. Similarly, a person may contact the
@Responsible Organisation
to say that they no longer have the
@Need
.
SAVVI recommends some of the data structures that could be used to update a
@Need
with an
@Outcome
.

Closing a Case

When all the
@Needs
for a
@Case
have been closed, the
@Responsible Organisation
can close the
@Case
and apply an
@Outcome
.
Alternatively, the
@Responsible Organisation
may have a further
@Contact Event
about the person or household which gives updated information about the situation. For example, the person may have moved. That would lead to a further
@Situation Assessment
, which in turn may update or cancel the
@Needs
, and may lead to the
@Case
being closed with a suitable
@Outcome
.
