Basic Financial Building Blocks

There are thousands of financial products available, but they can generally be summarised categories as shown below:

The category that generally gets covered in “Financial Planning”, is retirement funding. Everybody either wants to invest in shares like Warren Buffet, or buy rental properties like Robert Kiyosaki. But that is a very small part of a comprehensive financial plan.
The other two categories are made up of two groups of insurance products: medical and life insurance.
Most, if not all, financial products can be grouped into these three categories.
