We (Orizon Design) are hiring a Business Development Lead to own outbound, build partnerships, and help close high-value UX/product/brand engagements with VC-backed startups and enterprise teams. You’ll create a repeatable outbound engine (playbooks, sequences, partner channels), open doors with VCs/venture studios/dev shops, and run full-cycle deals from discovery to signature. Remote, NA-friendly hours.
💰 Compensation
Base Salary: $135k to $150k (based on experience) Variable at target: $30k-$50k Commission: 2% on the gross profit of every deal you close Travel: $15k-$25k annually (select U.S./ Canada conferences and targeted trips) OTE: Opportunity to earn more through the commissions 📍 About Orizon

🎯 Your Key Responsibilities
Actively identify and reach out to potential new clients via email, LinkedIn, phone, and other channels. Build a repeatable outbound engine Own full-cycle sales: prospecting → initial sales call → negotiation → close plus upsell Build and maintain strong relationships with VCs, dev shops, startup accelerators, founders, and C-suite executives at enterprise companies. Manage the entire sales pipeline, from outreach to closing, focusing on securing high-value UX design projects. Collaborate with the team to develop and execute business development strategies, refining go-to-market plans and pricing models. Attend networking events, conferences, and webinars to generate leads and cultivate relationships with potential clients. Prepare tailored sales presentations and proposals, and confidently represent Orizon during video sales calls. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities. Pipeline & forecasting: drive stage velocity and margin discipline; report weekly on meetings, SQLs, pipeline $, win rate, and GM$. Bonus: Contribute to researching new market opportunities, refining sales materials, and supporting communications (including social media updates for our large audience). Engage in continuous learning about our products to communicate our value proposition effectively.
💼 What You’ll Bring
5–10 years selling agency/consulting or adjacent B2B services to founders/C-suite; consistent five to six-figure project closes. Evidence of VC/studio/platform relationships or enterprise entry points (share 2–3 references or examples). Crisp discovery & storytelling; strong writing; confident on video sales calls. RevOps habits: lives in CRM, sequences, and dashboards; forecast accuracy within reason. Nice-to-haves: fintech/healthtech/gov exposure, experience teaming with design & engineering, RFP/RFQ familiarity. Si tu parles aussi français, c'est super 🥐
