Business Development Lead (VC-Backed Startups Focus / Enterprise)

👩‍💻 The Role

We (Orizon Design 👋🏽👋🏻👋🏾) are looking for a full-time Business Development Lead to drive our growth in the VC-backed startup ecosystem and large enterprise sectors. If you have a strong network within the venture capital community, experience with enterprise SaaS or tech companies, or expertise in enterprise sales and channel partnerships (with a knack for understanding how businesses scale, especially through UX design), this is the role for you! You’ll focus on identifying and securing high-value design projects, building lasting client relationships, and helping Orizon grow. The position is fully remote with flexible hours—let’s grow together!

💰 Compensation

• Base Salary: $120,000 per year • Variable Pay: $0 to $100,000 (based on sales performance) • Yearly Travel Budget: $20,000 - $30,000 for conferences and meetings

🎯 Your Key Responsibilities

• Actively identify and reach out to potential new clients via email, LinkedIn, phone, and other channels. • Build and maintain strong relationships with VCs, startup accelerators, founders, and C-suite executives at enterprise companies. • Manage the entire sales pipeline, from outreach to closing, focusing on securing high-value UX design projects. • Collaborate with the team to develop and execute business development strategies, refining go-to-market plans and pricing models. • Attend networking events, conferences, and webinars to generate leads and cultivate relationships with potential clients. • Prepare tailored sales presentations and proposals, and confidently represent Orizon during video sales calls. • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities. • Bonus: Contribute to researching new market opportunities, refining sales materials, and supporting communications (including social media updates for our large audience). Engage in continuous learning about our products to communicate our value proposition effectively.

💼 What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience in BD roles focused on startups, SaaS, or enterprise clients. • Deep relationships with VC firms, startup accelerators, or decision-makers at enterprise companies. • Ability to manage a sales quota and close an additional $1M+ in annual sales. • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
