Hotkey in Node:

Shift + A: Add nodes
Ctrl + R click: unplug between nodes
Shift + left arrow: back to 1st frame on timeline

Normal Hotkey in Layout:
Number pad 1-9 : Different perspective view
Ctrl + Space bar: full screen
Duplicate: Alt/Shift + D (recommend Alt coz it’s instancing duplication method, don’t double vertices)
Hotkey in Edit mode:
A – All (select).
Alt + A – None (select).
Ctrl + I – Invert (selection).
Ctrl + A – Apply (overlay menu).
B – Box Select.
Alt + B – Clip Region.
Shift + B – Zoom to (box) Selected.
C – Circle Select.

Hotkey in Camera view:
Shift+ `: move camera around, WSADQE key move camera depth

Special condition:

Select camera, Ctrl+Alt+ Numpad 0 (Align camera to view)
In shading, Ctrl + Shift T on BSDF node, then choose all textures base color, normal, roughness (will connect all)

In View mode, set End distance from 1000m to 10000m (don’t let object dissapear when zoom out)

Recommended before started:


In Edit → Preference:
Interface, increase Resolution Scale to 1.25

Input, tick Emulate 3 button mouse (for mousepad)

To orbit around on the object (anchor point set at centre):
choose the object wanted, then click Frame Selected in View

Suggestion: Choose Camera → Frame Selected → Choose Light → Frame Selected → Object wanted → Frame Selected

Enable Snap tool:

Install Lazy Viewport: let hotkey G,R,S be move, rotate, scale in snap

Modeling:

When duplicate, first R click and duplciate, then click Esc to reset the position, and then drag to the wanted position

To scale uniformly. use Object tool (orange squrre), type values

Lighting and shade

Go to Shading menu → Click most R arrow to open viewport menu
Click the circle picture to choose the lighting

To apply material to all objects:
Select all objects → Material tab → Pulldown menu → Copy Material to Selected

To apply texture:
Drag the texture image in the graph,
choose the object wanted to apply texture,
Rename the texture e.g. Grass Green 001 (click copy icon on R side if want to duplicate the texture)
connect to base color

In shading tab, click View and to show toolbar/sidebar, etc

Modifier: Array

To create the ground from 1 cube:
Select the ground cube, choose Wrench (Modiflier) →
Add Modifier → Array → Add Count to 10
Add 2nd Modifier Array → Change Factor X to 0, Y to 1

To change materials, click on the icon below to choose

Render Properties

Add Shadow effect along with bloom effect
Choose the icon below, tick ambient occlusion and bloom, set values as below:

Animation and Simulation:

Back to Layout mode
Use selection method below if want all same material objected under simulation/animation:
Select → Select linked → material

After selected, Object → Rigid body (for animated body simulation) → Add Active

Select the ground, Add Passive this time
Still in ground selected, Apply both 2 modifiers (mean the modifiers are finished)

Add gravity in scene to -30 (make collapse faster)

Add some randomness of the cube so the collapses is more random

Tips: Avoid overlapping any object to each other, or else the simulation will just be exploded
