inventXYZ is seeking a part-time Chief of Staff to join our team! As a young and growing social impact startup, we’re looking for someone who has strong communication & organizational skills and a broad background with business, technology, and design to help us run all the moving parts of our company.

About inventXYZ

inventXYZ is a tech education startup by Penn and Carnegie Mellon grads.

We’re immersing every student grades 7-12 in AI, Virtual Reality, Web Development, Electronics, and Rapid Prototyping through innovative real-world projects in every class they take.

E.g. History: Recreate ancient civilizations in VR; English: Write a blog article using data visualizations as evidence; Algebra: Build and code an electronic music instrument; Physics: Analyze sports technique using motion capture.

You will be one of the first employees of a startup that is changing the world in a meaningful and equitable way.

We were awarded the President’s Innovation Prize by the University of Pennsylvania in 2020:

As part of the team you’ll be able to:

Build business and management skills before entering industry

Learn more about how to run a startup before you create your own

Shadow a leader of a tech startup and be a sounding board for company ideas & vision

Get experience running a diverse set of tasks instead of just one narrow segment at a big company

Help build a company with strong social impact

Influence the company’s structure and culture

Interact with real customers and vendors

Learn about and contribute to the fundraising and Venture Capital (VC) process

Learn from some really creative and thoughtful teammates

Have flexible work hours and location

Have the potential to have a fun and meaningful full-time job once you graduate

This role is suitable for someone who is:

Organized & professional

Often the glue or project manager in teams

Exceptionally good at communicating via emails, slides, blogs, etc. (both internally and externally)

Good at maintaining relationships with existing partners to ensure growth

Perseverant and can withstand several “no’s” from potential customers/investors before getting the first “yes”

Inclined to develop systems & workflows processes for the team to ensure exceptional efficiency

Curious about entrepreneurship

Personable

Graduating in 2022 or 2023 (junior, senior, Master’s)
