Our team descaled and hydro-jetted kitchen branch lines as well as kitchen main line on 8/23.
We have initially identified holes in the kitchen line televised from the clean out access in the storage room and concluded that we would be able to provide trenchless repair - pipelining by installing full-size 4” clean out in the storage room and then installing pipelining through a full-size access.
However, upon televising the pipe during additional diagnostic visit by our Pipelining Technician Lead, we concluded the following
Compromised PVS Pipe: After the branch line from the storage room turns into the main line, there is a PVC pipe that was installed most likely less than 10 years ago that has not been attached with the proper fittings as well as backfilled incorrectly which resulted in a drop shift ~ 1” and accumulates grease and water which is highly likely resulting in backups.
Step 1: We will perform spot repair to replace the PVC and install it back with proper hubs link.
Step 2: During the replacement of the PVC pipe, we will take out the old PVC and install pipelining over the holes in the rest of the pipe (approx.. 15 feet).,
Step 3: Once the pipelining is installed, we will place and property reconnect the PVC pipe to a newly install pipeline.
