We have inspected the bathroom drain pipes of the units 2D and 2C from the ceiling of the unit 1B.
Issues identified:
1) Two leaking p-traps (waste and overflows)
2) One “T” connection & Vent Pipe
Suggested Repair Plan:
Step 1:
We will replace waste and overflow pipes for both unit 2D and 2C ( 1 & 2 on blueprint image) from the celling of the unit 1B
Step 2:
We will replace current 1) “T” connection (3 on blueprint image) with “Y” connection and 2)vertical Vent Pipe (4 on blueprint image)
Currently Vent Pipe and T Connection is one piece fitting. In order to repair it properly, we will require accessing unit 2C or 2D. We will drill as small hole in unit 2C bathroom wall and micro-camera it to identify the location of the vent pipe. We will then open up a small potion of the bathroom wall to cut the vent pipe and replace it with the new one as well as reconnecting it to a new “Y” connection.
Note: “Y” connection will allow to maintain main drain pipe (5) through either of the bathtub drains. Current “T” connection will not allow rodding snake to enter the main drain pipe, as it will travel into connection unit p-trap.
Note 2: Unfortunately, it will not be possible to avoid cutting the shared bathroom wall between unit 2D and 2C to repair existing “T” connection
