Subscribing members

Note that this is not a guide for handling data privacy! Please make sure your setup is in line with current data privacy regulations! The pack creator is not responsible for any data privacy related issues and has no access to any Coda doc or Mailchimp account of a pack user.
There are several ways to subscribe new members with the Mailchimp pack.

Simple subscription

The simplest way is to use the Subscribe lite button. All you need to provide is the list and the email address.

ℹ️ By default, users will receive a confirmation mail. This procedure is called double-opt-in and ensures a user subscribed by himself. To disable double opt-in, you can set the value to true at all subscription-related buttons. Learn more about it here:

Adding more information

If you want to add more information such as language, tags or merge fields, you need to use the Subscribe or the Update or subscribe button.
If you are not sure if a member already exists or if you use an automation or some kind of form to subscribe users, I recommend using the Update or subscribe button. It will not throw an error but updates a user that already exists with the given data.
The unique identifier if a user exists is always the email address!
