Don’t forget to save your solutions!

Your progress in the tool does not save automatically. Go to the end and “Run Report”, where you can click “Save Solution” button:

. This will allow you to revisit your solution, finish inputting your data or edit your data at a later date. You can find all your models in “My Solutions” (

) on the main page.

and click “Join Free” to create an account or login directly if you have an existing account. Once you have logged in, click “Impact Assessment” on the menu on the left.

`Step 2: Find your technology`⁠
⁠

You can choose to start a new assessment and search for a technology using key terms such as “battery”, “building”, “vehicle,” or “production”, or you can choose to edit an existing assessment by uploading the .json file that has been downloaded of a previous assessment.

`Step 3: Set units`⁠
⁠

Enter the period over which you would like to calculate the impact (start and end year), the unit in which your solution is sold (sales unit) and the (high GHG) market that your solution is displacing.

You can also choose to skip directly to default results.

`Step 4: Incumbent emissions`⁠
⁠

Control the emissions data in the CRANE tool database based on the sales unit and incumbent market selected in step 3. You can view the reference by clicking on the edit reference button and modify the data and references if you would like to use a different data set.

Control the emissions data of the solution in the CRANE tool database. These are the emissions of your solution per sales unit chosen in step 3.

Review your unit impact. The unit impact is difference in emissions of the incumbent market and your solution per unit sales.

Choose whether you would like to calculate your solutions’ planned (company) or potential (technology) impact by moving the toggle to the left or right. Control the market data in the CRANE tool database based on the incumbent market.

`Step 9: Run report`⁠
⁠

Click “Run report” to view your impact assessment. You can save your solution to modify it later within your account or download it as a .json input file to share with collaborators. Additionally, you can download the data to an excel workbook.
