How to create a new account or login to an existing account.

In order to conduct a CRANE assessment you need to login to the CRANE tool. To do so you need to

create a new account⁠

. Once you have logged in you can navigate to the impact assessment section to

start your assessment⁠

Don’t forget to save!

Your progress in the tool does not save automatically. If you are not finished inputting data for your tool, click through to the end and save the solution to your solutions. You can then go back and open the model in “My Solutions” and edit the inputs later.

and click the “Join Free” button circled in red below to register and create a new account.

If you get the error, “Something went wrong, please try again later.” This may mean you already have an existing account associated with the email address. Therefore, please reset your password according to the steps

and click “CRANE Login” button circled in red below to login with your existing account.

To login, enter the email address you signed up with and your password and click continue.

Start your assessment

Once you have logged in you should automatically be directed to the “Find Technology” page. You should see the screen below.

If you are on another page and would like to navigate back to the impact assessment page, you can open the menu by clicking on the three lines on the top left of the screen.

Once you have opened the menu you can click on “Impact assessment”.

FAQs

Can I still use the old version of the CRANE tool?

The old version of the CRANE tool is deprecated and no longer supported. If you must conduct an assessment that was previously drafted with the older version, you can reach out to

info@rhoimpact.com

I forgot my password. How do I log in?

On the login page, click the forgot password button to request a new password. View more elaborate instructions

I’m not sure what email address I used to create an account.

Try the email address you think you used. If you cannot login, try to request a new password. If you do not receive an email with a new password (wait a few minutes and check your spam folder), this means you do not have an account associated with that email and can use it to create a new account.

What email should I use to sign up?

We advise you to use the email related to the company/technology you are conducting your impact assessment for.

What happens to my data?

Your details will only be visible to the developers and will not be shared with any external parties without your explicit permission. We will only use your contact details to ask questions about your experience using CRANE and in collecting feedback on the tool, which you may choose to respond to or ignore.

What if I get an error while creating an account?

If you get an error while trying to create a new account such as: “Something went wrong, please try again later”. This may mean you already have an existing account associated with that email address. In this case, please
