high-priority
This section covers the technical aspects of Data Zen’s current and future SEO.
However, currently it appears that Data Zen’s website is not integrated with Google Analytics. We have also not received access to Google Search Console.
Still, we can make some preliminary assessments.

Takeaways

Google Analytics 4 is not set up fully at the time of writing, and we didn’t have access to Google Search Console, so information about website traffic and search presence is based on 2nd party data.
Data Zen’s website has significant technical issues that need resolving to ensure every dollar spent on SEO and marketing returns at least an even ROI. Currently, content, product pages, and other assets may not appear correctly, unless these issues are resolved.

Website Analytics and Search Performance

As of April 2024, we can’t provide feedback on Data Zen’s analytics, as it needs to be configured.
Going forward, I suggest setting up GA4 and similar reporting tools as a priority.

Website Technical Audit

We identified numerous technical issues in Data Zen’s website structure and indexed pages that will handicap any investments in SEO and content over the coming months.
You can see the full results in the report below.
Here is a quick summary:
We suspect 100+ old pages from the website’s development are still indexed. These need to be deleted and de-indexed manually for the site to perform correctly:
No on-SEO page has been implemented. Pages are missing crucial elements like meta titles that ensure they’re indexed and appear correctly on search engines.
Improving navigation and UX will make a big difference. This includes adding breadcrumbs, tidying up CSS issues, and page structure.
As SEO and content marketing are highly competitive in Data Zen’s industry, every technical error that handicaps performance will reduce competitiveness.
Improving the website’s structure and page issues will provide immediate ROI, while other channels mature (ie, SEO, social, email)

New Website Checklist

The checklist below provides a short roadmap for building an SEO-friendly website. It compliments the technical audit, and gives you the option of using whichever you prefer.
We’ve focused on the most important aspects of your whole site and individual pages to ensure they meet modern SEO and UX standards.
While the checklist is comprehensive, it does not cover every possible error, page element, permutation, or outcome from growing a new website. Use it as a benchmark and quality control tool.
But remember that issues will always arise when building and managing a website for a fast-growing startup. So, ensure at least 1 team member is monitoring your website closely and is prepared to act on any issues quickly.
