this document is the HANDbook for a project called Synchronous City. in as few words as possible...

...the project is an open source,/ platform that unites developers and biz professionals to develop projects (either small businesses, platforms, or biz/econ related apps). the collaboration is standardized, templated, and monitored from a central core; the goal is to create a thriving open-source community that develops projects to be both beautiful and useful. this is done under the oversight of a board - experts in biz/dvlpt/econ/data - that monitor and enhance our technical operations as well as provide a creative vision, which takes us to the second “arm” of this project...

... a mobile-app. this is to create a community and spread our vision (or, better said, bring people into it). we want to make it a little complicated (meaning lots of “touchpoints”). we aim for it to contain: courses, live sessions, blogs, interactive apps, and more - we’re going for what it’s about: true community with true content.

this document is a HANDbook to a business project called Synchronous City.

the health of a nation is determined by its togetherness, or

asabiyyah⁠

(a pre-classical model of economics). the invisible hand (a classical model of economics) only behaves properly when ethics and fairness work in concert with individual self interest at a collective level.

synchronous city: an economics approach to manifesting asabiyyah and the invisible hand. functioning under a shared vision and collective self-interest, we hope to nurture a community of class, etiquette, culture, and passion.

okay, okay, that’s great, but what are you doing? it’s a two headed dragon - a dual approach to a single vision.

first and foremost, we intend to be an open-source platform that unites dvlprs and biz pros on “projects,” or small business development and biz/econ related dvlpt projects. this has alot of ancillary possibilities - investment opportunities, open-source to commercial transitions, a uniform template for biz branding or scaling, etc. as a democratic organization, we hope to work with people and our board to develop a project that is as fun and beautiful as it is productize and utilizable. check out section 3 to learn more.

secondly we hope to cultivate a community. the method for this is a open-source development community, but also an app for the public - or all arm-chair fans of biz and econ things. the app is intended to be fun and intelligent - the market segmentation being people who love learning and love learning about biz & econ. check out section 3 to learn more.

invisible hand⁠

analogy, something most people don’t know is that the author wrote extensively on the conditions of the proper functioning of the Invisible Hand. most of which are related to ethics and the prevention of malignant forces - something between the spirit of the law and the letter of the law. with this HANDbook, we hope to capture the spirit of the original conception of the Invisible Hand - along with the concept of asabiyyah. the concept of asabiyyah is implemented as follows: uniting people in our organization internally through a shared vision, and bringing a small-world community of patriots into our shared vision through our mobile app, creating a cohesive community. the concept of the Invisible Hand is broke down into an analogy. the “Invisible Hand” implies a hand - or five fingers. the model of this document is a breakdown of five factors that create a healthy economy, starting with the pointer finger and ending with the whole hand. this is the HANDbook.

this document proceeds as follows. the top of the page is a tl:dr synopsis of the page. this is followed by a brief description of theory - or how this relates to our asabiyyah/Invisible_Hand paradigm. that is followed by an “application” section that spells out how this theory turns into action in the context of this project.
