Welcome to the Wildcat Firewise Community: Promoting fire and disaster preparation, education, and response in Kensington and El Cerrito. All information is for educational purposes only.

Who are we? WILDCAT FIREWISE COMMUNITY is approved by the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA - Firewise USA®) and includes over 150 households in Kensington and El Cerrito, adjoining Wildcat Canyon Regional Park, including residents of the following streets: Kensington Court, Kensington Road, Lawson, Cowper (above Lawson), Leneve, Ivy, Craft, Clark, Ridgeway, and Terrace (above Craft).

BENEFITS FOR WILDCAT FIREWISE COMMUNITY MEMBERS
We will have quarterly educational zoom meetings, and monthly educational emails to provide updates on upcoming events, meetings, resources, local fire department meetings. PLUS
1) Up to 10% reduction in home insurance, 2) Possible additional funding for hazardous tree removal, 3) Latest educational resources (special information from NFPA (), 4) Quarterly ZOOM educational meetings, 5) Links to key meetings of fire departments, 6) Our own 25 member Wildcat Emergency (WECOM) GMRS radio team that can provide emergency communication in case of power failure, 7) Specialized evacuation drills, 8) Free help from teams of neighbors, 8) A chance to meet and work with neighbors to build resilience and disaster responsiveness for fire, earthquake, wind and slides (Neighbors Helping Neighbors).

What is a resilience team? Resilience teams are groups of neighbors working together to enhance our preparation and response to disasters including fire, earthquake, wind, and landslides. We need your help to prepare and protect our neighborhood. Click
