Slack in Coda and Coda Bot in Slack - what’s the difference?

Great question! In addition to using Slack in Coda, the Coda team has developed the Coda Bot for Slack.

Whereas all of the work you do to

send notifications⁠

add buttons⁠

to your Coda docs are all done in Coda, this friendly bot lives in Slack and makes it easier to connect and collaborate in Coda.

Installing the Coda Bot in Slack makes it easier to share docs when working in Slack by providing full previews of doc content, and easier to know when your coworkers might have assigned you a task in Coda by sending notifications to Slack.
