Choosing a location relatively close to one of the sites is an opportunity for cost savings. Some employees may choose to drive instead from Seattle or San Francisco in lieu of flying. However, it is far away enough to feel like a retreat.

Oregon and the Pacific North West is known for its scenic beauty, and is thus a great city for a team that likes to stay active.

I think this venue gives a focus on water activities over

Proposal 1: Boulder, CO⁠

. Both give the sense of a retreat into the mountains, but I think the water activities offered here (kayaking, river rafting) have more team work elements, over the water activities offered at Boulder. Of course similar activities are offered in CO, but they are more accessible at Skamania Lodge.
