Achieve more with integrations + automations
The sync tables we explored on can be combined with Coda integrations (Packs) and automations to build powerful workflows that make your life easier. This page will walk you through two examples:
Receive a notification when a user shares a doc to someone outside your domain
Receive a notification when a user makes a doc publicly accessible

Step 1: Set the domain you want to be notified for

For this doc to know what company docs fall outside your org’s domain you need to tell it what your domain is so that it can cross reference it with all the domains your users share docs with. Enter your domain below and click the green button.

Step 2: Connect your account to each table

Click the “Connect an account” button and enter your Coda credentials to create a connection to the API. Once connected, the doc will sync your workspace data on daily. You can in the table settings to “Manual” or “Daily.”

Step 3: Connect to your notification tool of choice

You can notify via Coda, or connect to your preferred communication tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook, or Gmail
To connect your pack, click the “Insert” icon at the top right of the doc, select “Packs”, and search for the communication tool you wish to connect.

Step 4: Update automations to reflect the selected tool

Switch to your favorite communication tool: This example uses the Slack Pack to send notifications. Toggle the dropdown to see how to replace Slack with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook, or Gmail.

Update the default message and recipients: This doc is configured to notify all workspace admins when docs are shared externally or made public. Toggle the dropdown to see how to reconfigure these settings to fit your needs.

Turn on the automations and update them to your specifications: be sure to turn on all automations for the doc to function properly. Otherwise, you will not be notified. Toggle the dropdown to see how

Externally shared org docs

The table below contains an overview of all the docs in your org that have been shared with people outside your org’s domain(s). Use this to verify that all docs are shared as intended and comply with your security policy. Use Coda integrations to set up alerts and other powerful automations.

Publicly viewable docs

The table below contains an overview of all the docs in your org that are publicly shared and viewable. Anyone on the internet can discover and view these docs. Web crawlers can index these docs. Use this data to verify that all docs are shared as intended and comply with your security policy. Use Coda integrations to set up alerts and other powerful automations.
