Learning embodied practices to become a force of Syntropy

Most of us know that in order to learn and grow we need to step outside of our comfort zone into the so-called growth zone. As an Ecstatic Learner, I am most of the time in my comfort zone and growth zone at once.
🐝 Learn more about ecstatic learners in this Multidimensional heART Story:
It is challenging to describe how I got there, but let me try: To some extent I always loved learning, not in the school/educational sense but in the sense of learning from data, feedback and processes to optimize outcomes.
But I had a rather entropic relationship with my comfort zone - routine, convenience, relaxation - all of it was a boring place for me, especially routine and relaxation. As soon as some routine popped up in my life, I tried to break it because I was afraid that my life would become dull. It was only thanks to my loving life partner Luke that I learned to see the beauty in routines. I experienced a sense of harmony, and understood that healthy routines can bring grounding to my life. Now, I deeply appreciate my comfort zone; I practice routines that keep me centered and balanced.
With that practice I can tap into learning energy that I wasn’t aware of before. I’ve always been a curious explorer who loves playing and experimenting but often in the past it was exhausting to bring things forth. That is not the case anymore; also due to my new awareness and acceptance of my shadows and projections.
In our second Learning Retreat New Frontiers Stage 2 ‘From Conflict to Creativity’ with the wonderful humans at we went deep into our shadows and projections.
After the first session I spent a few hours with my golden shadow out in the bush; there was a lot for me to unpack. Yes it was painful to consciously look at my past and accept all that there is, wholeheartedly. At the very same time it was so liberating.
Being aware and able to accept are the first two crucial steps; and once we are aware we can actively court our shadows in everything we do. That can only happen when we are willing to step into the growth zone from a grounded place, which I understood from our learning retreat as the resilient zone. According to Miriam and Adam from We are Open Circle, we can practice to remain in and return to the resilient zone. This is where we have the best capacities for: Flexibility and adaptability, Pro-social behavior, Executive functioning, Being responsive rather than reactive.

One practice that helps with this dance is witnessing. Through witnessing we expand our awareness; we become more open to accept different perspectives, and understand that we have choices of how we want to relate.
On the left, and with the support of a heART FreqVE by Lady Daya, I have captured how We are Open Circle is defining the Practice of Witnessing.

It is thanks to the New Frontiers Learning Retreat, that I gained more clarity on how I want to relate to my shadows, and my golden shadow in particular. I choose to commit to practicing self-compassion and forgiveness. Easier said than done! I consider myself as a super compassionate and forgiving person, when it comes to others. I want to be the same person for myself. I need to be the same person for myself in order to be truly connected with All Life.
The We are Open Circle podcast episode ‘’, Miriam shared with us after the retreat will help me with my new practices. The inspiring Wendy Palmer speaks to three practices she has learned to nurture:
Dedicated practices: walking, meditation, yoga; help us to deepen into our awareness of our self.
Ritual practices: moments, when we center ourselves for 5 to 20 sec to make a shift.
Spontaneous practices: situations, when we realize that we are off-centered or triggered.

My favorite three words she said during their conversation are: Discipline is Freedom.
This resonates deeply with me as it takes a lot of discipline to stay in practice. The beauty is that practicing leads us into becoming syntropic, this is when we shift to our centered self and engage from that place with our inner and outer world. We enter a state of flow by becoming more open, compassionate and creative in conflict or stress situations.
I have learned that ecosystemic facilitation needs to be applied inwards and outwards in order to regenerate the earth and heal the people. Our bodies are highly complex ecosystems. When we facilitate our multidimensional being towards health and wellness, we can bring flow and all its illuminating qualities to the ecosystems around us.
Much love,
Kath 💚
