OBJECTIVES
The main objectives of this assignment are:
Enable student to reflect and apply all the issues discussed and lectured in class in their design studio process.
Help student to provide comprehensive evidence on integration of building services and structure in their design.

SCENARIO
This is a real-life scenario and related to your current design studio project.
In the studio task, you need to design a 40 storey high rise office building. In the design process building services and structure are an important element in ensuring the building to serve its purpose well throughout the building lifecycle. To show proof/evidence that these have been considered and well thought in your design; you need to provide a series of drawings as part of your final presentation.
TASKS
Based on the design of your high-rise design, prepare a set of presentation drawing that show:
A. The main structure of your high rise.
indicate the system that you have selected.
identify the components of the system.
B. The layout planning and design of the services core and mechanical floor/ roof /podium.
indicate on which floor they are located.
the position of the raisers
C. The conceptual layout of the mechanical ventilation and/or air conditioning system
the layout diagram showing the zone and ducting layout.
a typical section of an office floor showing the position of the system.
D. The lift system and its components.
explain how you determine the number, size and position of the cars and lift banks.
The drawings can be in diagrammatic 2D or 3D (preferably in scale).
For each item explain your reason for selecting the system and component.
All these items must be presented on A1 size boards:
Please follow your presentation board format,
Yet clearly separate and indicate that the boards are for Building Technology A.
