We currently only have two types of goals:
Monthly contribution - each month the goal is to have at least X in the category budget.
Balance by month - each month the goal is to budget enough money so that the X amount will be available in the budget category in the target month.

It is possible to have both types of goals for a category at the same time. In such cases “Balance by month” will be used until it expires and then “Monthly contribution” will continue to be used.
