Designing and developing high-performance, data-driven systems in a distributed infrastructure Building systems with lean experimentation methods and applications leveraging existing tools to address business problems Working with large, interesting data sets including historical, real-time and third party data streams Making machine learning models and data pipelines available via low-latency and high performance APIs Implementing and optimising ML solutions in collaboration with the team

We’re on a mission to become the global personalised product discovery engine for ecommerce that drives behaviour and powers a better customer experience. We are re-imagining online shopping to provide everyone with an effort free, personal and engaging experience transacting online.
The online retail space has historically been focused on the top of the funnel with little focus on the user experience to complete the entire journey to checkout. So we are taking the hassle out of shopping by getting retailers to help them customers find the right product at the right time creating a seamless buying experience.
Who we’re looking for:
Helping design, build, maintain and operate the data pipeline Ensuring that solid development practices, such as proper use of source control, full testing processes and automated deployment mechanisms, are followed Own the full Data Science life-cycle from conception to prototyping, testing, deploying, and measuring its overall business value Use data to improve the decision-making, and ultimately, to enhance the experience of retailers and their shoppers Integrate your algorithmic solutions into customer technical platforms to run at scale and directly change the customer experience on site. Develop systems and products that implement business logic, modern design patterns and architectural principles Build and/or configure end-to-end applications through close collaboration with product team members Work with the team to build novel solutions to business problems Partner with stakeholders to understand and solve large scale customer-facing business problems Partner with engineering to scale and deploy Machine Learning models
What You'll Need
While we typically look for candidates with advanced University degree in Maths, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or other quantitative disciplines, we're happy for you to prove us wrong and show that these degrees aren't necessary 4+ years of industry experience developing machine learning models from inception to business impact. Proven ability to tailor your solutions to business problems in a cross functional team Understanding of cost-benefit trade-offs of data modelling and ML algorithms. Experience training and deploying and maintaining Machine Learning models You are proficient in Python and a statically typed language, with ability to code and iterate independently on top of data infrastructure tools You are experienced in SQL and shell scripting Experience working in a cloud-native environment (GCP, Azure, AWS, etc) Deep understanding of modern machine learning techniques and their mathematical models, such as classification, clustering, optimisation, deep neural network and natural language processing
