Time reporting

Whether you’re an hourly employee entering hours worked or a salaried employee entering vacation or sick leave, there are two systems you need to use: PeopleSoft & TAS

PeopleSoft

ASU Online Timesheet
The ASU Online Timesheet is the official ASU system and is linked to payroll. Approvals are entered by the department time administrator after your supervisor has approved the time in TAS.

TAS

Department Time & Attendance Support
TAS is our department time tracking system. It eliminates the need for paper timesheets and email leave requests. Your TAS entry automatically routes to your supervisor for approval.

Sharing Designs

1. Be sure to regularly upload any files and assets you are working on to the team Google Drive.
2. If you’re using Adobe products on a project, add my account to all documents so we can access any cloud files while you might be out.
3. When using Figma, any work should be done inside of the Split Studio Figma workspace.

Project Sprints 🏃

Our team operates on a scrum 2-week sprint model to track our projects and plan our work.

Our Project Process

Sprint Planning

At the start of a sprint...
You’ll be assigned tickets that contain different tasks for you to work on, and each ticket has story points associated with it to quantify the effort each task will take. This allows us to plan an appropriate amount of work each sprint and stay on schedule with our projects.

Story Points

1 Story Point = 2 Hours of Work
Assign tickets the amount of story points that you feel best represents the level of effort you will give to a task. As a student, each sprint you should plan for around 20 story points worth of work across a two week period.

Work Dashboard

You can view your work dashboard with the current sprint and your assigned tickets here.

We’ll go over this in more detail as you join more team meetings, so don’t stress about this too much. For any questions feel free to reach out me or our team’s Project Coordinator, Aly Rassel.

Hybrid Work Schedule

We currently work on a hybrid schedule model, so you can come into the office or work remotely.

Hours per week

For student workers, we expect 20 hours of work per week during fall and spring semesters, and up to 40 hours per week during summer.

Days in the office

Full time employees (FTE’s) on the team are at Skysong on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week - if you can come in for some time on any of these three days, that’s great.

We understand things come up last minute and we will be flexible, but please always communicate via Slack when you may be late or plan to miss a meeting!
I recommend downloading the Slack app (desktop and mobile), and make sure notifications are turned on so you don’t miss any important updates.
