What is a Satellite BEYOND?

Satellite BEYOND events are regional gatherings hosted by CAE members or a group of members (), often in collaboration with local institutions or networks. These editions are grounded in principles of decentralisation, proximity, and contextual sensitivity.

Satellite BEYONDs aim to:
Address cultural issues and priorities specific to local or regional contexts
Create a space for radical imagination and proposals
Provide a platform for dialogue, experimentation, and capacity-building
Strengthen connections between local realities and EU-level advocacy

By expanding the reach of Central BEYOND, Satellites democratise participation and amplify diverse cultural voices, ensuring that CAE’s European advocacy is informed by a wide spectrum of experiences and perspectives.

How does the Satellite BEYOND programme look?

The programme is flexible and locally grounded, developed around the ideas and needs of each host. Created in a participatory way, each edition takes the shape most relevant to its local context, following its own structure, activities, and approach.
As part of sessions co-created with Culture Action Europe, each Satellite BEYOND includes a set of shared activities:
-A short info session (approx. 30 min) open to everyone, where a CAE team member presents our organisation, network and ongoing work.
-A dedicated 2-hour session for CAE members in the region, supporting coordination, exchange, and collective strategy building. This may take place outside the main public programme.
-Each Satellite BEYOND should visibly include socially engaged arts as part of its programme, for example by inviting practitioners as speakers, contributors or facilitators.
