Investment & Target Contribution Modules

Investment | Target Contribution
Let's take a closer look at what's new as we announce some new features and updates on the Investment and Contribution modules.

1. Merge Target Contributions:

Investment Officers can now merge Target Contributions for users upon request. How does this work? Users who want to Top-up a Flex contribution above their regular topup amount and earn better interests can rather create a new contribution in the new(higher) interest rate band and merge with the previous contribution to earn higher. For example topping up a N9,000 contribution at 8% with N50,000 will still leave the user in the 8%, band. Rather, the customer can create a new N50,000 contribution at 16% and merge with the N9,000 contribution. To learn more about the Contribution Bands click the link below.
Note: This feature is specifically designed for Flex Contributions. Importantly, the Parent Contribution you are merging to must have at least 30 days left.

2. My Portfolio for Investments:

Investment Officers can now manage investments assigned to them within the "My Portfolio" sub-module. This provides a centralized view of all investment managed by a particular Investment Officer.

3. New Investment Top-Up Maturity Date Option:

Previously, when topping up an active investment, the maturity date is extended based on the tenor added. There was no option to maintain the same maturity date as the parent Investment. With this update, Investment Officers can now maintain the maturity date on the parent investment while topping up. This will only work as long as the remaining tenor on the parent investment is not less than 3 months.
It is important to note that you won’t be able to enter any value in the ‘new tenor’ field if the ‘use previous maturity date as the new maturity date’ checkbox is checked.
This also applies if you enter a tenor, the checkbox cannot be checked. The new maturity date will default to the same date the topup is being made at the end of the investment tenor.

4. Investment Top-Up Summary:

We have introduced a summary screen for investment top-ups, allowing you to preview what the investment will look like after the top-up is completed.

5. Investment Liquidation Date Indication:

When raising a liquidation request for an investment that had already been liquidated days/weeks/months ago, the investment officer can now enter the date the liquidation happened(i.e it can be backdated)
This same date is also persisted on the view of the finance officer. It is important to note that the default liquidation date of the investment will be the DATE the liquidation is treated if a start date is not specified.
