Monday:
On Monday I started the day with TA AT265. In that class we worked on electrical wiring again, but this time the focus was on finding poles and throws on switches and understanding how they worked. We also had to wire our own board from scratch. The goal was to correctly set up the wiring so everything would function properly. It took some time because we had to figure out the right connections and make sure the switches were wired correctly. After that I went to AT381 which is my aviation security class. In that class we talked about airport and airline security. We discussed the different types of security measures used at airports and how airlines handle security issues. It was more discussion based compared to other days.
Tuesday:
Tuesday started with lab for AT219. During the lab we had to start making a flight plan for the Believer aircraft. This was our first time working through the process for that specific aircraft so we had to learn a lot about the Believer’s specs and limitations. Lucas and I worked together on the plan and practiced how we would communicate during a mission. At first we could see each other’s screens, but then we were told we could not screen peek anymore so we had to face away from each other. That made it feel more like a real life operation where you have to communicate clearly. Later we would finish the final version of that flight plan in the Thursday lab. After that I went to AT362 where we ended up doing press conferences for different companies. Our company still was not approved yet so we did not actually participate in the main activity, but we still watched the other companies present.
Wednesday:
Wednesday was a little different because my AT319 teacher was finally back, so that was my first class of the day. He told us a story about when he was in Peru and had to hand launch a drone in a tri layer rainforest. After that we worked on different GIS sequences in class. Then I went to AT335 where we had lab in the back of the room. We used a simulator to work on different avionics connections and systems. That class is usually pretty fun because we get to actually interact with the systems. After that I went to AT381. During that class the professor talked to everyone about how they needed to prepare for the debates coming up next week. Since I am exempt from the debates, I was able to leave early again.
Thursday:
On Thursday I went to AT362 again and our company finally got approved. Because of that we were able to give our press conference for the new company we created. After that I had to go to the lab for AT219 and Lucas and I finished the Believer flight plan that we would actually use. This was the final version of the plan that we worked on earlier in the week. Once everything was finished I went home and later that night I went to a Zach Bryan concert in Missouri.
Friday:
Friday was a more relaxed day compared to the rest of the week. I mostly just cleaned and relaxed after the busy week of classes and labs. It was nice to have a slower day after everything that happened earlier in the week.
