Week 3

My week

This week kind of felt super tiring but went by fast, I think this week I realized that my Tuesdays are longer than my Wednesday.

So let me start with Sunday, I didn’t do much because my shift got cancelled because of the snow, but me and my roommate tried to go starbucks and they were closed, then we tried to go to another one and they were closed as well. So we went to 7brew. Now we can start my week.

I honestly feel like I dont remember much. Monday classes were cancelled until 10:30am, that meant I didn’t have to TA AGAIN!! So I only had one class. This was AT381, and we just talked about more hijackings. Then I had to work on my AT319 lab...ugh.

Tuesday wasn’t bad, I went in to work 7-9:30, I havent gotten much sleep this week and it honestly started with tuesday night. Work was good, I left, changed, and went to AT219. We talked about weather in 219 and wrote our paragraph based off the article we had to read. Then we went to lab. In lab we were dealing with trying to finish the believer drone. Diego and I had to unsolder the wires from the 9pin D-sub connector in order to put heat shrink on. then we had to resolder and we kind of burned the connector a little. We brought it up to my Professor and he said it was okay. Once we soldered those on we had to solder a new piece to the remaining empty pins. we also had to cut a wire we soldered in order to splice an extra wire and connect it. We ended up not being able to finish the drone but it is definitely in the near future. Bella glued on the GPS and went through our punch list. The only thing that was written as a flaw on our punch list was that there was minimal gaps on the fuselage so she went through and filled those with glue. After our lab I went home and cleaned and then went to AT262, Advanced aviation operations. During class we got assigned different groups and businesses, some are airports, some are airlines, some of those have MROs some are just MROs and etc. In class we had to walk around and try to become partners with people. We are a regional passenger airline with an MRO so we are looking to partner with airports with no MRO and find financing people for our MRO and aircraft production companies to build us planes for our airline.

Wednesday wasn’t bad. It started with AT319 lecture, we ended up doing a soft launch lab. It was a small add on from the previous lab but also a quick preview for the upcoming one. It was fine, we got let out early so I cant complain. I went to lab for AT335, we discussed a lecture on power. then our lab we had to read a manual for our simulator and get questioned before we could go to lab 6. It was easy for me because it was an A-01 simulator and it was basically and simple copy and paste version of the plane I fly at home! We had to go through procedures like holding altitude and airspeed. We also had to do something with using a VOR signal and switching frequency on a radio. After this lab I went to AT381 and we went through a lecture and used I-clicker and had to voice our opinions on why we picked something, I like it because there is no right or wrong answer. We then move on to AT319 lab and oh my, oh my, was it bad. A lot of us were confused, I cant explain much about the lab because I have to go in next Monday to clarify instructions and understand the end product of the digitizing topography, however that leads me to how I spent my Friday night.

Thursday was kind of long because I was kind of tired. It started with 335 lecture we talked about differences in diodes and power and etc. We then went to 219 and wrote about people in Switzerland using drones to observe weather from 5000-20000 feet. Then we talked more about weather and wind. After that I had a few hours of a break and me and my cousin got our nails done. Then we went to AT362 and had a press conference to do but we didn't go because other people took awhile. so that class was uneventful but interesting. Then I went home, got changed, and went to work I was supposed to work 5:30pm-2am but DNR flights got cancelled so it was only till around 11pm.

Friday was also very uneventful, My entire morning was trying to figure out lab and then it didnt even get done, then we went to AT381 again and talked about various different security threats in aviation and then I went home and just relaxed because oh my gosh what a week.
