“I am a single mother currently without a vehicle. My four year old son and I rely on the #20 bus to get to Northgate Transfer Station, Northgate Shopping area as well as The University district. We need access to these areas for a number of reasons; for example, getting to our bank and going to the library. It is a big convenience for us to have this route available. Please keep this route in operation.” SW
“I have 2 toddlers and the 20 is the only bus that comes close to our house. Being able to use public transit is made possible by this bus.” VM
“I have a family of 4 people that rely on this bus to commute to work AND school every day.” LD
“I’m a single disabled mother of 2, without this bus I can’t commute to work, and I can’t take my kids to see their dad.” G
“It flows through great parts of the city. My daughter rides it every day to and from school and it helps save our family time and money. Please help keep this route.” BK
“Much of the multi-family housing that's going up in my area doesn't have enough parking. The idea seems to be that it will encourage people to use public transit. But not everyone can walk to the Northgate hub. Routes like the 20 allow people in these dense areas to get to light rail and bus hubs. We need MORE public transit, but less! Our family uses route 20 frequently and there is no substitute.” SM
“My daughter and I ride it the #20 bus to swim at the GLCC pool. I also use it when I buy groceries at the PCC.” KK
“Only the wealthy and people who are too selfish and ignorant to care about transportation for low income folks, or single mothers trying to get to work or elderly or disabled, and people who don't care about the environment and want more cars used would consider reducing and eliminating bus services in this way. My taxes in Seattle keep going up and services going down!!! Unacceptable.” TJ
“Our family uses this to get to school, work, groceries, light rail, and the park/pool. The 62 is too far to be a replacement (for the section of the 20 on Latona). If the 20 goes away, we will be without a bus.” BA
“Route 20 picks me up a block away from my house and drops me off in front of my work. To and from. If I don't have this route, I will have to find a way to go a mile from my house to the light rail and go another mile to reach my work from the light rail. Also, my family uses route 20 for my kids preschool drop off/pick up. If route 20 goes away, it will tremendously impact my family negatively. We rely on this bus and it's route.” RQ
“The #20 bus route has been critical to my family of three since we moved to Seattle in 2015. Trips to work, school, grocery store, library, and much more use this route. I do not have a car and so am reliant upon public transportation. PLEASE do not take away service on this key route that serves so many.” LV
“The 20 provides a direct connection between my childcare provider and my house. It helps improve work-life balance and affordability for both of us. It also provides key access to green lake library and play fields for easier child enrichment activities.” RH
“This bus is a lifeline to me. I got divorced recently and this bus connects me to family, to side gigs to help me afford rent, to safely reach the U District (where it increasingly feels unsafe to walk through). The bus system is already so difficult here (what would be a 10 min drive is sometimes a 60+ minute bus ride)….please don’t make it even more difficult to get around.” KC
“This bus is used by my family to get to sport(seattle gymnastics academy) , previously for school, get us car free to northgate light rail. We have neighbors who are students at UW who use this bus. Also the city is building tons of housing with no parking because it promises public transportation should cover their needs. This would not help remove cars from the streets!” SB
“This is the route that I take to pick up my children from school and I am not able to afford a car. With this change it will make pick up significantly harder. Please re-consider this change for the sake of a single father and his kids. Thank you!” R
“We bought a house in 2023 and decided to only have 1 car as a household. We believe it is more ethical to use public transit instead of driving everywhere. The 20 is the bus I use the most. I work in green lake and take it everyday. I use the 20 to go grocery shopping. I use it to get to the light rail, instead of driving there. If the 20 is gone I will have to use a car to get around. This bus is a vital lifeline to my community.” MS
“We ride the #20 bus all the time. It is invaluable to making the city accessible to my family. We often ride it to and from Greenlake park, and also up to Northgate. We used to ride it to north Seattle college where my kids had preschool. We live a 20 minute walk from the Roosevelt light rail station, but often chose to take the 20 places because it’s a much easier walk for my family, especially with kids.” RM
