Whether you're checking on a project status or making decisions about an upcoming launch, the Timothy Collective weekly Leadership Meeting doc serves as both a collaborative space and a point of reference for anyone not in the meeting.
Duplicate this section for each meeting, then rename it and change the date below.
FYI - the “burden” of action for the pilot at this point is on the mentors to deliver an exceptional “apprenticeship experience”
Question: What does that look like?
Finishing the 3-meets & decision on whether to move forward or not
Group activities: sports game together?
Individual activities: dinners with families, etc.
How is the leadership team involved?
TO-DO: Tom to put together some documents to put together basic framework
TO-DO: Regroup in group meeting with mentors to align and get them working together to deliver this experience - start the “flywheel” of self-driven group.
To Discuss: Update from George’s conversation with Fr. Lino (per Slack discussion)
TC is an apostolate “born of the movement” and there will be some intentionality in exposing people to RC. It’s not overt recruiting, but is by natural availability and exposure to the charism.
House sponsors / rent subsidies / scholarship
Update: George and Tom have committed to providing a rent sponsorship/subsidy to young adults living in intentional community who want to opt-in to the TC mentorship program.
To Discuss: Michael’s conversation with the men’s house leader. I’ll share initial feedback and next steps.
Fr. John Klein liked the idea and equated it to a “scholarship”
We all like the idea of positioning it as a “scholarship”
We’re identifying individuals with particular promise and the scholarship is to support those who show promise in living it out.
There are conditions on the scholarship like anything else.
It’s opt-in / not required for people living in the house(s)
To Discuss: Update from George about his conversation with Jim Sells offering one of his properties for this concept.
Fr. JP had the discussion with Jim Sells. He said he’d be open to purchasing a house - just tell him when.
TO-DO: Michael to follow up with Fr. JP to pass the conversation along to him
Note: Michael has a good relationship with Jim already and has shared intentional housing concept before, so this is good progression from older conversations.
Next step after getting a better idea of what Jim would be willing to commit to would be to start searching for a house leader and a couple housemates who would want to start the house. They are then (lightly) involved in the house search process to make sure they’ll follow through with it and it’ll be good for the community
After we have the people, then we go buy the house in short order.
Where is the property? - we’d clarify this with Jim, i.e. what he’d be open to.
What are the economics? Free house, etc.? we’d clarify this with Jim, i.e. what he’d be open to.

Recruiting / Onboarding
To discuss: what do we want to do about mentors who haven’t been matched yet? It sounds like there are two who are “itching” per Tayron.

To discuss: other ways of recruiting - Didn’t cover this topic
Talk to more RC young men groups
Take the house sponsor model to other intentional houses
Reach out to Atlanta Catholic Young Adults group
Donor Relations
Funding next steps
New support
George and Tom committed to funding the house pilot model for one year
Michael waived fees after September if we go down the house pilot model route
Existing support
Orlando requested to access the mentor training, so he could experience it
Question: What should the topics of the follow up discussion be with him?
Question: Should we add Orlando to these meeting invites?
Note from Fr. Lino: Julie Gonzalez commented at an RC council planning meeting that she liked the idea of the communities and that they went much broader than just Christian circles (which she liked). Also, this is helping Orlando come around to the housing idea.
Question: who will fund the tech?
We can skinny down the tech, but not totally get rid of it.
FYI website funding will run out mid-October
Website:
TO-DO: add indicator for mentors that aren’t available anymore (already paired)

Next week (9/18-24): George & Michael OOO/not as available
Question: should we cancel next week’s calls?
We’ll keep the calls on the calendar, but likely won’t be able to make the calls. We’ll likely be available for impromptu meetings if need be.
Week of 10/2: Michael in London. Will be available for calls, but may need to adjust times
