Subject line:
Building High-Performing Teams Starts from Within

True team performance isn’t just about strategy – it’s also about trust, clarity, and alignment. Here’s how to build it.

Intro section:

Boosting Team Performance from the Inside Out

How can we keep our employees engaged and performing to their full potential?
This question has come up frequently in recent months in our conversations with business leaders. Many of them are concerned: employees are feeling disengaged, attrition is up, and team performance is lagging. So, what can we do about this?
While there are no easy answers, it’s important to identify the root causes contributing to this behaviour:
Is an organizational transformation causing uncertainty and upheaval?
Is conflict among team members leading to frustration and a lack of trust?
Is a leadership change contributing to an unclear organizational vision?
Understanding the underlying factors will help point the direction toward potential solutions.

From two teams to one shared vision

We recently worked with a corporate client navigating the internal merging of two teams working at different facilities, which was causing uncertainty and stress among the team members.
We engaged both teams in a Vision to Action Workshop, which got all parties working together to come up with a shared vision of success. This exercise helped to get everyone thinking as one team. From here, the next step is to collectively clarify what progress will look like, what behaviors will need to change, and what data will confirm whether the team is on track.
Our experience suggests that achieving internal alignment like this leads to more significant and sustainable increases in team performance over the long term. To build stronger teams and boost engagement, you need to start from the inside out.

AMA in May – AI at Work: Are We Losing the Human Touch?

A conversation on leading with empathy in an AI-driven world

Last month, we had a rich discussion on why some coaching works – and why some doesn’t. Your presence and engagement made it a truly energizing session.
Now, we’re excited to invite you to our next Ask Me Anything live session – this time, we’re exploring the intersection of AI and Organizational Development with OD expert Lalit Jagtiani.

How Is AI Changing Leadership?

And how do we keep the human touch?

AI is transforming how we work – automating tasks, shifting roles, and shaping decision-making. But as organizations move faster, we must ask:
➡️ Are we sacrificing empathy, trust, and human connection for efficiency?
In this AMA, Lalit will explore: – What human skills remain essential in an AI-augmented workplace – How OD can support meaningful, people-centered transformation – How to design AI adoption that empowers rather than replaces

Subject line:

Why AI transitions fail without a human strategy
Preview text:
[Aim for 100 characters max]
AI without a human plan leads to burnout, disengagement, and lost potential.

Intro section:

Balancing Tech and Trust in the Age of AI

From automating routine tasks to surfacing valuable insights, AI tools are transforming operations and workflows across industries – often leading to big boosts in efficiency and scalability.
But there’s a growing risk that we’re seeing and hearing about more often in consulting and coaching work:
➡️ The pace of AI integration in organizations is outstripping the strategy for how people will adapt, use, and thrive alongside it.

Short-term gains, long-term risks

When the human side of AI adoption is overlooked, organizations may see:
Increased isolation and a sense of micromanagement among employees
Drops in engagement, motivation, and long-term retention
Erosion of psychological safety and openness
Underutilized talent when decision-making is driven only by dashboards
Initial productivity wins can make it seem like AI adoption is driving only positive change. However, overlooking the impact on the people within an organization can lead to long-term challenges.

Striking a sustainable balance

So how can leaders create a more balanced approach? Here are some approaches that we’ve seen working in organizations that we support:
Prioritize real human connection – through one-on-one check-ins, informal conversations, and in-person gatherings
Offer support and training to help people understand how AI can enhance their work (not replace it)
Use AI to support leadership, not replace judgment
Invite input from across the organization on how AI is being experienced and where it can be improved
AI adoption is not just a technical rollout – it’s a cultural shift. Getting it right means acknowledging the implications of this shift while investing in both the systems and the people who use them.

Version A: Supporting your people isn’t a perk – it’s the foundation for sustainable performance.
Version B: Growth accelerates when we focus on the people behind the results.

Intro section:

Empowering People to Unlock Performance

Today’s organizations stand at a pivotal moment: according to by the World Health Organization and the International Labour Organization, we’re losing approximately 12 billion workdays and $1 trillion globally each year to depression and anxiety alone.
Yet when people feel supported and trusted, performance rises. For example, engaged employees to be 21% more profitable and 87% less likely to leave their job.
Industry surveys and studies have established this link between employee empowerment and results – for example, how increased psychological safety in the workplace contributes to greater engagement at work – and we have seen similar results at the organizational level with our human capital consulting clients.
How do we create this kind of culture? By empowering people:
Leaders who coach instead of command
Teams resilient enough to risk, experiment, and learn
Employees who feel seen, valued, and supported
These aren’t just feel-good ideas – they are business imperatives. So this month, we are diving into themes like well-being and mindfulness as we look to harness the potential of empowerment to propel both individual and organizational performance. Let’s go!
