Prompt for how to think about it

Start by thinking through where do you want to be in 5-10 years? Here are couple of questions to help you structure your thoughts. Also, if it is more helpful, think of of these questions over a 2 year time frame instead of 5-10 years.
Where do you see yourself spending your time?
What type of work are you not doing?
What type of work are you doing?
What skills do you have?
What do you feel confident doing?
What would you feel proud to have accomplished?
Next, focus on the next 12 months and think through the following
What do you want to have learned
What do you want to have experienced
What do you need to do to set yourself up for your 2-year and beyond goals
Next, think about what’s happening right now
What is working now that is setting you up for where you want to go and skills you want to develop
What’s not working

One you have this, we will discuss these to build shared understanding. After that we will work together on picking 1-2 development goals that you can work towards.
