Overview of the Boss Fight. Enemies appear during the first phase, chains have to be broken to make the sarcophagus. Once it has fallen, the sarcophagus reveals arms and becomes a monster
This Boss was made with heavy budget constraints, regarding new models especially.
The arms sprouting from the ground and the sarcophagus are recycled from the ’ model, and the chains are already used in the demo. This is great, as our boss now reuses all of the mechanics established in our demo before.
Phase 1
Health Bar appears, “Shackles of Servitude”
The Sarcophagus is suspended above the ground, and the chains holding it can be broken with fully charged . spawn every X seconds, and there can be a maximum of X of them in the arena. After breaking X chains, Grim Hands can sprout from the ground and attack the PC.
Breaking chains reduce the Boss’ Health Bar.
After reducing this Health Bar to 0, the Sarcophagus falls and Phase 2 starts.
Phase 2
The Health Bar fills again, the name changes. “Living Sarcophagus”
Hands grow from the inside of the Sarcophagus, and it moves like a spider.
The Boss can move around, attack with its hands, and throw Grim Projectiles.
When its bar is emptied, the PC can perform on it, dealing X damage instead of killing. Once the Boss’ Health Bar is emptied, the end cutscene plays, offering a choice regarding how the Boss is killed.
