🏕️ Csörög

Csörög is a tiny village close to Budapest. However, we will spend only 3-4 days in this village, the rest of your stay will be together with the children in Esztergomin the summer camp. When you arrive to Csörög you will meet with citizens who are proud of who they are, the history of their village and their cultural heritage. Beside the respect they have towards their ancestors and history, the village is in constant developement so they can face the modern world’s challenges.

Since it is only 20 minutes from Budapest this quiet village is a perfect choice for those who want to move out from the capital city’s noisy and cramped up enviroment. Here you can enjoy green scenery the peacfull quiet and also there are many more sightings near by the village, for example a botanic garden or many hiking trails. Of course if you’d like to explore the capital city are well there are more sightings and places you can visit, so your leisure time in Hungary is going to be well spent for sure. 😉

🏘️ ACCOMMODATION IN CSÖRÖG

While in Csörög, you will live in the afterschool building.

You will sleep in the roof (see below), in a big shared room on mattresses. Please bring your sleeping bags with you!

There will be one bathroom and two toilets available in the building.

🏘️ ACCOMMODATION IN ESZTERGOM

During the week (Wednesday-Friday so 2 nights) there will be the summer camp for the children, when we will sleep in Esztergom in the Körösi László Középiskolai Kollégium (high school dormitory), in the city center of Esztergom.

Address: Esztergom 2500 Esztergom, Szent István tér 6.

We will be accommodated in 3-bed rooms with shared bathroom at the end of the corridor. Bed linen and blankets provided, but no towels. Meals at the local canteen.

🍲 MEALS

We will provide 3 meals/day for you (hot meals for lunch and dinner). A vegetarian option will be available too. In case of allergies and diets, please inform us ahead, so we can make sure that your needs are taken care of.

In the afterschool place the plan is that the staff and local families will cook for you, but you can even volunteer to cook your favoriute national meals for the team!

In the Esztergom summer camp we will eat togather with the children in the canteen.

If your diet is special/extreme, we suggest you bring some food with you to complement the provided food. In this case, you can avoid possible glitches or shortages for unexpected dietary needs.

We kindly ask you for responsible alcohol consumption outside of service hours. E.g. in Esztergom during the camp with the children we kindly ask you not to drink alcohol. Please do not let the children down by missing a day or being not able to focus on them after a night party. That’s the same with smoking, please do not smoke in front of the children.

In Hungary it is also prohibited to consume drugs or have some in your possession. The same rules apply to our workcamps. Please respect these rules.
