greenwashing (n)
expressions of environmentalist concerns especially as a cover for products, policies, or activities
Example: “Misrepresentations or miscalculations of business practices’ environmental soundness, often called greenwashing, and fossil-fuel-industry subsidies are two examples of how climate costs can be obscured.”
microplastic (n)
a very small fragment or piece of plastic. Specifically, a piece of plastic that is five millimeters or smaller in size.
Example: “The Mariana Trench contains the highest levels of microplastics (most likely from clothing, bottles, packaging and fishing gear) yet found in the open ocean, offering irrefutable proof that plastics have penetrated even the most remote places on the planet.”

of, relating to, or being a method of harvesting or using a resource so that the resource is not depleted or permanently damaged
