Personalized Microsteps

Microsteps make large goals achievable and lay the foundation for Thrive’s behavior change methodology. Now with personalized Microsteps, our users will get a more tailored plan to help them on their well-being Journey. Learn more about this exciting update here and use these resources to share the news with your organization.

🆕 What’s New

Along with some visual UI changes, we’ve made the following enhancements to our Microsteps on the home page:
Smart Microsteps: The more a user interacts with Thrive, the smarter their Microstep recommendations will be. Over time, our model will start to understand user preferences, likes, and dislikes to recommend the most applicable Microsteps to help them reach their goals.
Microstep Feedback: Giving a thumbs up or down on a Microstep teaches our content recommendation model about a user’s preferences so we can provide stronger recommendations in the future.
Microstep Reminders: Users can now schedule a reminder on their Google or Outlook calendar to complete a Microstep when it works best for them.
Unblocking Microsteps: Instead of Microsteps being gated behind the Daily Check-In, users can now check off Microsteps independently of their Daily Check-In response.

❓ FAQs

How does this change the Journey experience? Journeys are still a core part of Thrive, but no two people’s Journey to better well-being will look the same. While Microsteps are still tied to Journey topic, this update gives more flexibility and personalization to a user's Journey and helps them reach their goals quicker. Education is still a critical piece of habit formation, so Journey videos aren’t going anywhere, but they’re no longer coupled with Microsteps.
How is checking off the Microstep different than giving it a thumbs up? Checking off a Microstep is the same mechanism that has been shown in other iterations of Microsteps — this is the action of ‘completing’ the Microstep for the day. Giving a thumbs up or down informs what the content recommendation model recommends in the future, similar to the recommendations in the Library.
