SEO Rankings

This year we saw some pretty good results with search rankings, particularly for keywords that were generating some volume. The site was listed 1st in searches for ბავშვის საწოლები (Children’s bed) and ბავშვის საწოლი (Baby bed). These keywords had the highest volume and drove the majority of Organic search traffic to the site (approx 2674 users - or almost 10% of the search traffic):

Please note: rankings can change daily, but much like tracking stock prices, the trend on a longer-term time scale is more useful than zooming in on the daily fluctuations.
Generally, in terms of SEO approach, I aim to prioritise the changes that will have the biggest impact, on users and visitor numbers. This means I try to tackle the most impactful changes working down from site-wide changes (like improving site response time) which impact all rankings, and then identifying the highest volume keywords to optimise the site on and working down the keyword list based on keyword traffic volume. We have added the keywords with greater than 100> searches per month to the favourites list in the Insights section of the admin area, as these will have the greatest impact on search traffic.

Google Algorithm Updates
Over the course of the year there were 12 announced Google algorithm updates, including 3 core updates and a number of other relevant updates including the (in Sep 2023).
This is a published list of Google Core algorithm updates.
The Google Core algorithm update that rolled out in Nov had a negative impact on the site’s search rankings and I’m now working to improve the rankings (esp for high volume keywords) and regain some of the top rankings we had for much of the year.
