Big Kids Concert

"From Dusk till Dawn"

Tickets: on sale Term 4

Your child’s class will perform one dance routine for each style of dance in their class and the finale routine.  

We keep the concert relaxed and fun, as long as the kids are having fun and the routine looks together and special, us and your teachers are happy!

The concert usually runs approximately 60 minutes.

There will be a stop/start dress rehearsal on the morning of the concert. 

You can sign in/drop off your kids in the morning with a packed lunch and their bag, help them find their dressing are, there will be a rack with their class on it and the parents helper waiting, and come back at 12.30pm to watch the show.

CONCERT FEE:

A concert fee of $90 is payable by the middle of term 4. This covers:

TWO costumes supplied- with accessories and tights

Costumes transported to the theatre

Staff to design, source/make, organise, label, pack the costumes.

Printed Program - with your students name

Staff for rehearsal and show

Cleaning of the costumes and storage

hairties, spray, pins

optional glitter hairspray

Congratulations gift

COSTUMES –

The costumes are hired each year through us, and we ensure your class has a costume relating to their dance routine, fits your child's body and is age appropriate. Sizes can be entered in your portal under INFO, then COSTUMES. All our costumes are modest and fun!

If you are borrowing tap shoes from the studio, in the last class you need to name them and place in the tub in the office so they are brought to the theatre with the costumes. There is tape and markers to name them at the studio.

FINALE COSTUME -

The finale is the routine the entire school performs to end the show. You will need to provide your own outfit for this dance. It will be a simple colour scheme, to be finalised in Term 4

Costume Fittings

we will bring along the started costumes soon, to be test fitted in their class time. The costumes will not be complete at this stage, but we can see sizes and how it works with their routine. At their fitting we will discuss suitable hair styles, shoes to supply etc.

On the Day!

Arrival -9:30am

Please come wearing your finale outfit.

The dressing area is located in the atrium, you can either go in through the theatre or come around through the side street.

Sign your child in

place their lunchbox at the lunch tables

find your class costume rack. Parent helpers will be waiting to supervise the class.

MAKE UP and Hair –

Spray tans and full Make up are not necessary! If you’d like to add a little blush, lippy or mascara feel free. It helps to not look washed out on stage. We shall leave it up to you to decide.

Hairstyles will be decided on at fitting day. You can give it your best try in the morning, then the teachers, helpers will touch them up before showtime. You dont need to send along any pins or spray etc. Another email with those details confirmed will be sent after the fitting. We try very hard to ensure you dont need to supply anything, but occassionally for modesty you may need to get some pantyhose or bike shorts etc.

What to bring:

Finale Outfit (On your body!) and Hair attempted.

Lunchbox - no fridge/heating facilties.

Drink Bottle. No coloured drinks to be around costumes.

Dance shoes and extra items listed on next email.

quiet game or colouring in (no texta’s) to do while waiting for other classes to rehearse.

What not to bring:

Devices, valuables, money. We can not be responsible for these items going missing.

Students will not be able to watch the show. If they want to watch the other classes routines they are welcome to sit in the audience during the rehearsal.

PARENT HELPERS -

For the younger classes we will need 2 parents to stay and help with your child’s group during the rehearsals, to help with their costume changes and to keep them calm and relaxed. We will have a sign-up sheet on the wall early next term. Parent Helpers do not need to purchase a ticket. You wont be able to watch the entire show, but there will be reserved seats in the front row for you when your childs class is on stage.

DVD –

We did not have enough interest last year. If you are interested in a professional DVD of the show, please let us know

PHOTOS -

There will be an opportunity to take a group shot photo of each class after each dance routine.

After Party:

We have a little sip and chat after the show, feel free to bring a small plate of treats to share when you arrive to watch the concert. There will be a marked table. Soft drink, Water and cordial will be supplied.
