For New Static Pages - Use the Staging Folder during Staging, and move the page out once it’s complete.
Ensure classes on other pages aren’t effected unless its intentional
For Large Changes to an Existing Page - Duplicate page and move to Staging Folder. Once complete, copy the page wrapper and replace the old page’s content. (ensure URL & SEO settings stay the same)
Ensure classes on other pages aren’t effected unless its intentional
For Large Changes to an Existing Site (major design changes) - Duplicate the project in Webflow and start building off the duplicate. Once the duplicate page is complete the domain will be pointed to this project instead of the old one.
Ensure any content that is added while building new site is migrated.
This is the safer option when making major changes.
For CMS Items - CMS items that are being created, such as a blog post that isn’t ready to be published yet, should be saved as drafts to prevent them from being accidently published.
For CMS Templates in Progress - The template should be set to no-index in the project settings temporarily.
