Truck-Suvidha, which enrolls only those truck providers whose vehicles are equipped with tracking systems. Started in September, TruckSuvidha has about 23,000 truck transporters on its platform, each paying up to Rs 45,000 annually to contact prospective customers online.
Customers can post and search for loads and trucks on the website and at the same time can track and receive requests for the same. The service can be utilised by transporters, truck drivers, packer and movers and even people who are looking for intercity or interstate shifting of their household goods.
Customers can select trucks based on their requirements. This helps logistics heads, transporters, delivery heads etc., manage the movement of the vehicle and material loads efficiently, at the same time allowing truck drivers to get return loads on the trip.
The company claims that it has over 332K trucks online with over 1500 daily visitors. It claims to have more than 34K registered transporters, with over 1550 bookings each day.
The users can subscribe to the platform for regular updates and the company also has a SaaS solution to help transporters manage their supply chain. It provides them bookings through their contractual bookings, which can help them save up to 5-15% in their costs.
However, TruckSuvidha monetises mostly through its additional services of GPS as well as FASTtag solutions. Bansal told us that the company has been breakeven since 2016, so the fresh funding wasn’t a need but an opportunity.
TruckSuvidha Network covers around 632 locations all over India including states such as Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa, Assam and more.
he portal gets around 100-120 posts daily and provides availability of different kinds of heavy commercial vehicles with clients like Ambuja Cement, Jindal Steel, Agarwal packers and movers, etc. As listed on the website, they have total 3871 registered customers, 23232 transporters and 1532 movers and packers.
FR8
FR8's technology platform connects Customer, Transporter, Truck Driver and the Truck seamlessly. We own the entire customer experience, whilst aiding the price and route optimization to reduce the
cost of operations for the customers.
FR8 believes that a hard working truck owner should be able to run his business smoothly and pay back loans taken on his truck. Currently they are dependent on local brokers to get loads for their trucks, to avail advance for running the truck and to collect balance payment for paying their trucks’ EMI (monthly loan amount). In this process, they end up working with 10+ brokers across the country to increase their trucks’ loadability. 80% brokers are unreliable with price and payments. They charge as high as 20% price difference between transporter and truck owner where one of the truck owner/transporter is not aware of ongoing rates. Unreliable brokers also tend to delay/default balance payments.
What 2 million truck owners want is a nation-wide platform which is reliable in terms of price and payments. Such a platform has to have significant scale with 2 million truck owners in it. It has to be automated and data driven to be efficient. This is what FR8 is and this is what we are building.
With this belief we take challenges head-on, explore new opportunities and rewrite the rules of the transportation industry.
