How will I be graded?
Grading is broken down across the different parts of the course. Assignments are outlined on the “assignment” tab. Participation to me means attending class, appearing attentive and engaged, and participating when asked in class discussions. It also includes your participation in discussion questions on the board in D2L.
Extensions
Life happens, and some things are just more important than a class assignment. If you need an extension, please email me with your reasoning and a proposed new deadline. All requests within reason will be approved, no questions asked. The request must be made 24 hours or more from the original deadline during work hours (8am - 6pm). While I am the one granting you an extension, it is up to you to set the new deadline. If you do not meet the new deadline, the work will be considered late and is subject to the late policy here.
Grade Review
Professors and TAs are people too, and sometimes we make mistakes. If you feel I have made an error on grading one of your assignments, you may ask for a grade review. Please note that if you ask for a re-grade, we will treat the work as if we are looking at it with fresh eyes. This means your grade could go up or down, so ask at your own risk. You will have one week from grades being released to submit a grade review request. Once that week has passed, the grade is final.
Late Work
Late work is accepted in this class to a point. There is a grace period of 12 hours after a deadline to submit any assignment after it is due. However, how late it is will determine what penalty is applied to your work. The penalties below are non-negotiable if you have not already asked for an extension and anything sent in over 12 hours late will result in a 0.
