Assessment Criteria for Housekeepers

Screening Criteria for Housekeepers

Relevant Experience:
Check for a history of cleaning experience. Look for details about the types of properties or facilities they have cleaned, such as residential homes, commercial spaces, or specialised environments like hospitals or restaurants.

Longevity in Positions:
A cleaner who has held cleaning positions for an extended period in previous jobs may indicate reliability and job commitment. Frequent job changes can be a red flag.

Cleaning Skills:
Assess their skills and expertise related to cleaning tasks. Are there specific cleaning methods, tools, or equipment mentioned that match your cleaning needs? For example, knowledge of carpet cleaning, window washing, or eco-friendly cleaning products could be valuable. (Use video to do this)

Attention to Detail:
Look for evidence of attention to detail, as this is a crucial trait for a good cleaner. Mention of thorough cleaning practices and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards can be positive indicators.

Certifications and Training:
Check if the cleaner has any relevant certifications or training in cleaning, such as courses on sanitation, safety, or specific cleaning techniques. These can demonstrate their commitment to professionalism.

Client or Employer References:
A cleaner's CV may include references or testimonials from previous clients or employers. Contact these references for insights into their work ethic and reliability.

Flexibility and Adaptability:
Evaluate their ability to adapt to different environments or cleaning challenges. A cleaner who has experience with various types of properties and cleaning situations may be more versatile.

Punctuality and Dependability:
A good cleaner should be reliable and punctual. Check if there are any indications of punctuality and consistency in their work history.

Communication Skills:
Good communication is essential for understanding and meeting client expectations. Look for evidence of effective communication skills, as well as the ability to take and follow instructions.

Initiative and Problem-Solving:
A cleaner who takes initiative and can solve cleaning-related problems independently can be a valuable asset. Look for examples of such skills in their CV.

Ethical and Trustworthy Behaviour:
While not always explicitly mentioned in a CV, a cleaner's reputation for honesty and trustworthiness is critical. You can inquire about this during the interview and reference-checking stages.

Legal Status and Background Check:
Ensure that the cleaner has the legal right to work in your country and inquire if they have undergone background checks, especially if they will have access to your home or business.
