My dream for UNITY began in eighth grade; initiated by Martin Luther King Jr. His words, 'Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly', resonated deeply with me. Having experienced bullying firsthand, I thought that if acts of hate could send me spiraling into negativity, affecting not just me but those around me as well; then, imagine what a simple act of kindness could do. That was my 'Aha!' moment; this was what I wanted to dedicate my life to. The whole purpose of UNITY is to show people that we’ve all got to be confident, not just to speak, but also to hear others out and listen as well as consider their ideas. The essence of UNITY lies in fostering confidence, empathy, and open-mindedness. We aim to redefine peace not merely as an abstract concept but as a tangible commitment to finding common ground and nurturing UNITY among us all.
