How We Operate
FreeWP operates through three interrelated entities: FreeWP Digital, FreeWP Ventures, and FreeWP Trust. This structure promotes worker ownership, fosters innovation, and empowers communities.
As a for-profit entity, we generate profits that benefit our workers through equitable profit-sharing and participatory governance. Financial independence is critical; we use diverse monetization models — advertising, subscriptions, events, and content production — to remain free from corporate influence while championing WordPress users’ rights.
With an investment-based model, we will reward shareholders for their financial contributions and aim to enhance the integrity and openness of the WordPress open-source project.
