We rejoice in genuine biblical conversions! Baptism is the public demonstration of a person's union with Christ (Rom 6:3-4) and intention to follow as his disciple (Mat. 28:19-20). When an individual describes the saving power of God and celebrates the fruit of the Holy Spirit in his or her life, it encourages those present to reflect on how God is building His church. Baptism is a visible reminder of the clear distinction between life without Christ and life with him. That is indeed a reason to celebrate along with our new family member!
