This morning our Scripture reading is a "responsive reading". That just means the words are spoken in alternation between the leader and the congregation. Many of the Psalms were designed to read in this way. Reading the Word of God and declaring its truth is at the very core of Christian worship, which is why Paul told Timothy, "devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture...". Responsive readings are another opportunity for the entire congregation to be involved in the service of our great God.
