Considered by some to be Isaac Watts' finest hymn, this song is paraphrase of Psalm 90. This hymn puts into plain focus the fact that man is given a brief life in this fallen world, but by contrast God is eternal and infinite. As we sing this hymn this morning and listen to Psalm 90 expounded upon during the sermon, let God's unalterable promise to be the "shelter from the stormy blast" for His people bring you comfort.
