Worship Notes

Hallelujah.

In an effort to avoid confusion or assumption about what certain Christian terms or phrases mean, we like to provide simple, Biblical definitions. Hallelujah translates into English as, "Praise the LORD!". Found primarily at the beginning of some of the Psalms, it was originally used as a direction or command to praise, not merely as a spontaneous expression of joy. As you see this word used in songs, keep in mind that it's an opportunity for us to not only express joy in God, but call others to worship Him in spirit and in truth. (Ps. 106, 113, 146-150)
