I try to find a couple of bloggers who do roundups in areas I care about that I trust to have good judgment, maintain a RSS feed, limit my Reddit habits to well-moderated subreddits on topics I care about, and shut off all content Discovery stream type services. So far it's worked for me. - Eleanor Konik
If you're talking Discord, yep, latest stuff is old news and difficult to find the next day. You're spot on about overload in this age of content creators, churn, and distraction. Like @Eleanor Konik said, I had to finally reign in my focus each day. The result is capture but no thoughtful refinement. I also had to do my thinking and writing earlier in the day and leave raw fishing to later. The fishing addiction leaves me exhausted with practically no added value and wasted space in my inbox and vault. Best of luck btw, you're in good company. - writtenfool
That's a nice read and there are several other articles that provide different perspective. I like their adherence to brevity - writtenfool
@Elanor Konik Even with a curated feed with rss I am getting a few hundred new post to skim (only a few of I will read actually ), much worse is the amount of discovering new reaserch articles and books that are highly relevant to my topic - danieltomasz
@danieltomasz hah I don't know how much I can help with that, then. I set up a zotero thing for saving off things that might be useful but I don't have time to deal with right now, mostly because searching academic texts is low key a nightmare so I feel like I can never find something again - Eleanor Konik
@Eleanor Konik My main discovery stream is a twitter list curated by me with academics doing work highly relevant or similar to my interest, every time I am looking there someone have a new interesting article or preprint it is nice source of fresh ideas but could be also really frustrating when you have an impostor syndrome - danieltomasz
I have also a list related to productivity tools, but I am neglecting it lately, someone could still find something interesting in it:
