Could use elements from Rebecca Pratten’s story (a young missionary) as some kind of framework or inspiration for an activity

In past Convo’s, tours was a large part of program. This will be different!

We liked the idea of hosting “workshops” to help attendees learn about the key themes/questions (first bullets)

Possible Learnings/Workshops: Gifts, Conflict Resolution, Small Group Dynamics, Myers-Briggs, Spiritual Direction, Social Justice, Bible Study, UN Sustainability Goals, Moravian Polity 101, How do committees work

Many church members time and time again say the youth are “missing in action” in the church. How would convo respond? What would they like to say to the church?

To encourage young people to engage with the church and to understand the value of community and togetherness. (and how Moravian mission is motivated by that - fellowship!) (Need to visit FL churches, learn from each other and about what’s going on in the Moravian world - mission presentation, sharing songs, etc)

Travel Updates (met on 2/12)

Remind app for mass texting communication

Discussed what is needed at the airport (MIA) for participants to get to the right place - texting communication upon landing, signs, designated adult to sign in participants as they arrive and show them to the correct transportation.

Local Logistics Updates (met on 2/13)

There is a “team” from the congregations on the ground waiting on instruction from us.

This “team” has plans for a “health team” to manage meds and take care of health needs.

We do have questions for FIU, waiting for response.

Eulencine - do you have any paperwork from FIU?

Both - Which church should we worship in on July 6th which could possibly incorporate worship leadership from all worshiping fellowships and congregations (or as many as possible)?

Other Progress

I have put together a very rough draft of a schedule.

Scheduling goal: Get to all three church buildings (New Hope/Agape, Prince of Peace/King of Kings/Suriname Fellowship, Margate) and hear from and meet representatives from all these congregations.)

Scheduling goal: Identify a service/mission project (or multiple projects) for the entire group on at least one day.

I have researched some “fun” things and tours to do.

I have researched what stores and locations are nearby.

I have reached out to FIU and will continue to in order to figure out details.

Justin, Sylvie and I are planning to take a scouting trip the week of April 7th

As we meet in our subgroups, I will be asking you want us to find out or pay attention to while down there, or what pictures to take.
