Leads Feedback

Ashley + Cara:
Need more guidance and support in the following areas:
PRD/setting up meaningful project training
Effectively setting up Linear tickets and managing tickets
Expectations/overarching purpose of All Hands updates and how to prepare All Hands notes accordingly
Deciding what projects should take priority as other teams are working on different projects/objectives across the org
Effectively communicating ideas and managing projects from inception to eng/product build-on to ensure all are on the same page
Empowering bottom-up work - it used to feel a lot more inverted where people would identify a problem and take on/pitch next steps. It feels like the expectations are now flipped that ideas get dumped in and Team Leads have to delegate it all out.
Makes sense for product-focused ideas to have to go through Team Leads so eng doesn’t get backlogged, but non-product projects should be able to be picked up without waiting for the green light.

Feedback from Casey:
It feels like both my teams are “what are you working?” it feels individually driven in terms of individual work, not what is the teams priority and how can we all contribute to making that happen
The teams never talk about the most important KPIs
They feel like repetitive standups “what are you working on, what are you blocked on, okay go”
It feels like projects are selected by individuals and scoped out individually, and then asked how they can fit into the goals
Pros: agency, feels like people can advocate for themselves
Cons: we could do that working in the opposite direction
If you’re new for the team, difficult to dig your teeth into
Team occasionally go into the ideas backlog, but not really
Now its good that teams have gotten better at saying what they’re doing individually, but not at a team level
