Ryo has a debt, maybe for accidentally burning down one of the gambling dens when running from a group of men. Kimin isnin search for her but Acot is his ckose friend snd saves her

Ryo runs into Acot and they talk, she promises him she will meet him in the mornign even though she told him she was leaving the city that day, she doesn't plan to meet with him

Ryo was only 16, she had been stuck with a man that would rape her and make her take care of his shabby home. One night he shows up drunk and before either can do anything he passes out falling and breaking a table. She then steals a little and runs out trying to get somewhere, anywhere. She was hiding for a few days, eating some scraps and trying to find somewhere to go when one of his friends spotted her. She ran and ended up running into an open door that happened to be a gambling den. She stumbled into the room of men, rich men, and the others came following through. What came from it was a bloody massacre and when she managed out of the room many were already dead. She hid that night and when she was walking down the streets a few days later she saw the first wanted poster, with her face on it, signed off by Hor Wei, the head gang leader in Surana. So she came up with a plan, was able to lie about her age and sign up for one of the labor Unions going out to the Isles. 6 years later she is back in Surana, Hor Wei is still looking for her but not for what she thinks

Wei owns a lot of trade in Sarana and Gildspire, and the benefit of that is a lot of magical items. It was about a decade into doing these trades did something come across his desk, it was a Scrying Mirror, an ancient beautiful piece that was heavy with magic, but the most curious thing, it wouldn't work for anyone. There was no curse, no bewitching, it wasn't broken, but no matter what the image on it would no change. The mirror was the size of the palm, a black glass with beautiful brass swirls around it, protecting it. In the glass was a faced image of a woman, standing with her arms slightly stretched to show the hands, most of her was in shadow but her left hand was a deep crimson red.

It was 15 years after that, one night Hor Wei finished up his last piece of paperwork for the night and stood to stretch. As he turned his body he assessed the room and stopped at the sight of the Scrying Mirror, it wasn't dark, it wasn't faded, and she was gone. Instead, the glass showed an evening moon, making him tilt his head before moving to the window and looking into the sky. The moon was in three days if he was right. And he was right. Three days later he sat in the room, having forgotten about the mirror entirely until that scrawny thing stumbled into the room. He had stared at her, as the men followed and fighting started he watched her and by the time he tried to cross the room she was gone. After the annoying fight was finished he left his men to handle it and went back to the mirror. When he found it he saw The Isles and knew if she got there he wouldn't be able to reach her and he could lose her, she was important for something, he needed to keep that from happening.

6 years later and Hor Wei spends most of his time in Goldspire, after all he has Adrea to handle business in the city. So when word hits Adrea that the little thing his boss had a standing eye out for he send his men to try and get her. Adrea's son however has afriend that knows her, so playing it smart would be better and that meant Kimin and Acot would be escorting the little sprite to Hor Wei

All of Hor Wei's men have the same tattoo, a snake coiled around their neck and head diving into their hair, or if bald, the snake head is there. Each year more detail is added to show the loyalty, the more beatuiful and detailed the longer they have been with him

The only ones that don't have that tattoo are either the kin of his leaders or his own family, to ensure safety, but also without the tattoo they can be used as undercover
