What does State of Grace Mean?

A State of Grace is a state of harmony, balance, and well-being that transcends the limitations and challenges of our globalized socioeconomic systems. It represents a state where individuals and communities, through , accomplish collective sovereignty from the constraints of pre-Industrial Revolution social structures that no longer serve, and where social, economic, and environmental justice prevail.
In this state, there is a deep sense of interconnectedness and empathy, fostering a collective spirit of cooperation, compassion, solidarity and ecological accountability. It goes beyond mere material prosperity and recognizes the intrinsic value of every human being and the natural world. It is a state where people's needs are abundantly met, and their fundamental rights are respected, irrespective of their socioeconomic status.
A State of Grace encompasses a society where power is decentralized, and decision-making is participatory and inclusive. It promotes the equitable distribution of resources, ensuring that basic necessities, education, healthcare, and opportunities for personal growth are accessible to all. It also prioritizes environmental stewardship, recognizing the interdependence between humanity and the planet.
In this state, economic systems are designed to serve the common good, fostering sustainable (and even thrivable) practices and supporting regenerative approaches. It is a society that values the well-being of individuals, communities, and the natural world over short-term profits or the relentless pursuit of economic growth.
Achieving a State of Grace requires transformative change, collective action, and a reevaluation of our values and priorities. It calls for transcending existing systems, advocating for social and economic justice, and nurturing a culture of empathy, cooperation, and ecological accountability.
While the journey toward a State of Grace may be complex and multifaceted, it represents an aspiration for any human settlement (ideal size of between 5,000 and 50,000) that embraces our shared humanity, values diversity and inclusion, and seeks to create a world where justice, sustainability, and compassion are the guiding principles.
